The newest member of the West Swedish Chemical and Material Cluster is Acosense, a supplier of process fluid analysis.

What does Acosense do and where are you located?

Acosense delivers non-invasive analysis of complex process fluids in real time. Our instrument can perform numerous analyses of process fluids with the help of acoustics. This could involve single-point measurement, for instance of density, or more comprehensive process analysis such as the operating status of a soda boiler in the pulp and paper industry. Continuous analysis of process fluids enables operators to optimise their processes, bringing benefits such as quality improvement, energy savings and lower equipment TCO.

We’re based in central Gothenburg, where our offices, production and workshop are located.

What do you want to contribute to the West Swedish Chemical and Material Cluster?

We believe we have a lot to contribute! Above all, we can help member companies automate and optimise their processes to make the transition towards a more climate-smart and efficient industry. The cluster provides huge opportunity for valuable knowledge exchange, new contacts and new, exciting projects and challenges.

What do you believe is the most important important future area for the Cluster to focus on, and how can you contribute?

The transition towards a more climate-smart industry, as well as a more automated industry, known as Industry 4.0. We can contribute in both these areas. Rationalising and optimising processes with the help of real-time data makes it possible to reduce consumption of, for instance, steam. This results in lower CO2 emissions. And there are also purely financial benefits to be gained by reducing steam consumption.

“It’s great to see another SME become a member. Acosense has an advanced technology that uses acoustics to analyse liquids in pipes and process equipment. They are an exciting complement to our existing members. We wish them a warm welcome!” says Lars Josefsson, West Swedish Chemical and Material Cluster.
