light-bulbs symbolizing clean energy

In an assignment from the Swedish Energy Agency, Johanneberg Science Park, Chalmers Ventures and GU Ventures will work together to strengthen new and small and medium-sized (SME) companies in the west of Sweden. The aim is to contribute to a long and short-term energy transition, in Sweden as well as globally.

The Swedish Energy Agency has, together with a number of innovation environments around Sweden, initiated a pilot for a concentrated effort to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

The West Swedish initiative EnerGO is one of eight selected innovation environments who will create a cluster of startups and SMEs in the energy sector. To promote collaboration, exchange of knowledge and financing opportunities a series of different activities are planned. A clear goal for EnerGO is also to stimulate the start-up of new companies in the region.

Main partners are Johanneberg Science Park, Chalmers Ventures and GU Ventures. Supporting partners are Innovatum, Lindholmen Science Park, Sahlgrenska Science Park and Science Park Borås. EnerGO receives 1.5 million SEK during a first year, with a possible extension of another two years.
