How do we create preconditions for sustainable and attractive public transport? And what new opportunities arise for urban planning when noise and exhaust fumes disappear? In Gothenburg, ElectriCity is underway - an exciting collaboration where industry, research and society develop and test solutions for tomorrow's electrified transport. Quiet, exhaust-free buses, ferries and even heavy vehicles powered by renewable electricity are included in the demo arena.
Between 2015 and 2020 travelers could ride between Johanneberg Science Park and Lindholmen Science Park on the electric bus line 55. Thanks to these trials, conducted within the ElectriCity collaboration, 150 electric buses run on 34 regular routes in the Gothenburg area. Read more about the results of line 55 here.
