Johanneberg Science Park, Chalmers Ventures and GU Ventures continue to be commissioned by Energimyndigheten, as one of six innovation environments in Sweden, strengthen start-ups and small and medium-sized (SME) companies in the region. The purpose is to contribute in the long and short term to a restructuring of the energy system both in Sweden and globally. The innovation environment also includes Innovatum Science Park and Business Sweden.

In order to succeed with the adjustment of the energy system, collaboration needs to take place to a greater extent than is happening in society today. Value-creating collaborations, exchanges of skills, experiences, ideas and the promotion of entrepreneurship are activities that through the support will contribute to this collaboration.

Johanneberg Science Park, Chalmers Ventures and GU Ventures have been one of Energimyndighetens innovation environments since 2018 and within the assignment run the cluster #greenUps, which consists of around 50 innovative companies in environmental and energy technology.

- We are proud of the continued confidence from Energimyndigheten to create value for start-ups, small and medium-sized companies and to strengthen the energy area in western Sweden, says Björn Westling, project manager for the innovation environment at Johanneberg Science Park.

The selected six innovation environments will work with:

  • Trainings, workshops and knowledge-raising seminars
  • Initiatives that promote investment in energy innovations
  • Matchmaking
  • Preparatory efforts for internationalization

The six innovation environments are financed with a total of SEK 18 million per year for two years, with an option for a third year.
