Self-driving vehicles on campus

4 April 2023
robot och självkörande buss

Perhaps you have seen the delivery robot Hugo and ridden the self-driving bus? They have previously been tested on the Chalmers campus. Now they share space and operate in the same area.

Eighteen partners are collaborating in the project, which has been granted SEK 4 million by Vinnova within the innovation program Drive Sweden. The tests are partly also financed through an EU Horizon 2020 project, SHOW.

Based on vehicle technology, transport efficiency, user perspective, business models and urban development potential, the project will explore challenges when several different self-driving modes of transport coexist in the same area.

Between mid-September 2022 and May 2023, a line of self-driving vehicles runs in the Chalmers area.

Västtrafik's line 68 operates as a round trip from Chalmersplatsen,
weekdays between 07.30 and 17.00.

Stops: Chalmersplatsen - Sven Hultins Plats - Library - Kemigården - Library - Chalmers Transportcentral - Sven Hultins Plats - Chalmersplatsen.
