European collaboration critical for local energy solutions

Celsius Summit in Brussels November 2018

The European Union has a clear goal of an energy transition towards cleaner energy and a lot of efforts are being made. But how can they be coordinated? Two of the energy projects run by Johanneberg Science Park try to lead the way.

FED and Celsius are two international projects coordinated by Johanneberg Science Park that have great potential to create synergies in the energy sector. In November 2018 Celsius invited its large network of European cities to Brussels for the full-day conference Celsius Summit. One of the delegates was Zeno Winkels, from Climate-KIC at TU Delft. He is also the designated UIA expert focusing on the FED-project, which is tasked with creating a testbed in Gothenburg for an innovative local energy system. He sees a clear need for coordinated European efforts towards an energy transition.
