Mölndal Stad has entrusted MölnDala Fastighets AB with the task of managing the overall development of the Forsåker area, while Mölndal Energi AB will develop the area’s electricity grid and district heating and cooling systems. Together with Johanneberg Science Park, and in coordination with the six real estate developers MölnDala Fastighets AB works with on the Forsåker project, the team will now set up innovative projects in the field of sustainable urban development.

To contribute to Mölndals Stad’s goals of establishing an ever-expanding and secure city centre, agglomeration and surrounding countryside with excellent infrastructure; strengthening the conditions for a thriving industry and labour market; and taking the necessary environmental measures to ensure long-term sustainable development, Forsåker Testarena will develop and scale up innovative solutions. The test arena wants to harness Forsåker’s potential by scaling up these innovative solutions to score top sustainability marks. Solutions implemented in Forsåker could eventually be replicated by other sustainable urban development projects, whether in Sweden or abroad.
