Materials for tomorrow
New materials are at the core of new design. The most important challenges in the future are to provide new materials that create breakthroughs in the fields of energy technology, life science and sustainable development. Further, miniaturization in the engineering field increasing the surface-to-volume ratio, which means that the chemistry of the surface becomes increasingly important. This opens new possibilities for combining advanced surface and material chemistry with materials science.
“Materials for Tomorrow” is a yearly initiative symposium where scientists and industry give their view on challenges and possibilities in materials science. The symposium hosted by the Materials Science Area of Advance at Chalmers has attracted a large interest during recent years.
