    Gothenburg is developing a new innovation arena for sustainable development. Within the framework of the proclamation “Development of innovation arenas for Sustainable, attractive cities” Vinnova has granted 8 500 000 SEK to develop an innovation arena for sustainable urban development.

    VINNOVA will fund the initiation-phase of the projects Positive Footprint Housing by Riksbyggen and HSB Living Lab in the Open Arena which Johanneberg Science Park is developing at Campus Johanneberg, through the program “Challenge-driven Innovation”.

    Two new buildings mark the beginning of a new urban development cluster. A center where focus is placed on the meeting between academia and construction-workers, consultants and architects, and which enables cooperation and feedback. Chalmersfastigheter and Skanska have signed the deal and the plan is to commence building towards the end of the summer of 2013.

    Bengt Dahlgren Göteborg AB signed the joint-ownership agreement regarding Johanneberg Science Park AB on the 22nd of March. This involvement signifies an arena with ties to society and universities for exchange of knowledge in primarily the areas of energy and environment.

    In December of 2012, Gothenburg’s Building Committee determined that the detailed plans for the project Positive Footprint Housing® by Dr Allards gata in the neighborhood Södra Guldheden is to be considered in depth and all the parties involved will be consulted.

    Johanneberg Science Park, Business Region Göteborg and the Norwegian-Swedish Chamber of Commerce are making a common effort to attract Norwegian companies to the Chalmers campus in Gothenburg. A seminar is held on the 31st of January at the Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania in Olso regarding long-term recruitment of engineers.

    HSB has thorough Johanneberg Science Park signed up as the first tenant in the new office building on southern Johanneberg which Chalmersfastigheter will start building in the near future. Two new structures will be completed in the next two years which will hold 120 employees.

    Riksbyggen together with consultancy Sweco have developed a method to do an assessment of how nature's services can be maintained and, if possible, strengthened by the development of new areas for housing. Riksbyggen have so far tested the method in the project, "Positive Footprint Housing" in Gothenburg.

    During the fall, the research-project that Johanneberg Science Park, HSB and Chalmer’s “Homes of Tomorrow” have initiated, will take off. The plan is to build 20-40 student-apartments at Chalmers Campus Johanneberg.
