MölnDala Fastighets AB new partner in Johanneberg Science Park

Mölndal is about to enter a historic stage in its development, and in the next few years will play an increasingly important role in the Gothenburg region's development. The collaboration with Johanneberg Science Park has every chance of being an important element in the work to establish and develop the completely new district of Forsåker.

MölnDala Fastighets AB is wholly-owned by the City of Mölndal. The company is leading the Forsåker construction consortium and is responsible for development and exploitation of the industrial area where the paper mill was previously located in central Mölndal. The area will undergo an extensive transformation into one of the most exciting urban environments in the Gothenburg region.

"The common arena and resources that are available at Johanneberg Science Park can be significant in our work to develop the district of the future. We can offer physical arenas that can be used for and in an R&D context, with the aim of developing the construction and property industry within a number of segments", says Bjarne Fjellanger, CEO of MölnDala Fastighets AB.

"Mölndal and Forsåker will have several unique elements in the urban environment, partly in consideration of our history and the industrial era, but also in terms of hydro power and other technical solutions in the future. In this context we perceive a knowledge exchange with Johanneberg Science Park which the Forsåker consortium can utilise, but also the industry in general. For our part, we would prefer to see a collaboration based on the question; ”How will a district function in 10 years, 20 years and 30 years time?”, Bjarne continues.
